Blended Not Shaken Ministries and Publications

Christian step/single parent and blended families ministry.

Hello to all! I trust that my December blog finds you well and that you were able to celebrate Christmas with your loved ones.

As I promised to a few single mum friends, I have created a number of short devotionals using the Bible verses used in my latest book “Sing a Song to Single Mums”. I will be using my monthly blog over the next few months to upload the videos and accompanying notes.

With the help of my daughter Felicity who has created the videos, I pray that these short devotionals bring you encouragement and hope in a God who sees, hears and knows.

1. Sufficient Grace for our weaknesses – 2 Corinthians 12:9

Watch video:

Read: 2 Corinthians Chapter 12

God’s grace and His strength are best seen in our weaknesses. The apostle Paul’s second letter to the church at Corinth reveal his most emotional writings, where he explains his many failings, weaknesses, persecutions, insults and hardships. His ‘thorn in the flesh‘ was given to him to keep him humble and reliant upon the Lord. As he says, he asked the Lord to take it away three times but the Lord’s response and the key scripture of this devotional is that “My grace is sufficient for you“. It is God’s grace. His grace is sufficient/enough/all you need. His grace is FOR YOU. Each of us WILL have trials, troubles and thorns in the flesh this side of eternity. Our earthly tribulations are to sanctify us (make us more like Jesus) but they WILL eventually come to an end.

“Beloved, we are now children of God and it has not been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He (Jesus) is revealed, we shall be like Him for we shall see Him as He is” (1 John 3:2)

Other scriptures referenced: 2 Cor. 1:8-11,12, John 16:33, Romans 8:11

For further Bible study: Romans 8:26-27, John 6:63

2. Perfect Peace – Isaiah 26:3

Watch video:

Read: Isaiah Chapter 26

True Peace is three fold. Peace with God (conversion leading to salvation), followed by peace with ourselves and peace with others. The last two are reliant upon right relationship with God first.

There is a true and a false peace. Jesus said so. Read His words in John 14.

God’s words, through the prophet Isaiah says that ‘Perfect’ peace is possible and only comes to us as we keep our minds on Him because we trust Him. True and Perfect Peace is most certainly a precious gift. Don’t allow anyone or anything to rob you of the peace that God offers you as you trust Him in all things. When you find yourself lacking or loosing your peace, ask yourself why. The answer will probably be because you have taken your eyes off Jesus, started worrying and fearing, forgotten who God is and been distracted by the wrong things.

Other scriptures referenced: Psalm 139:3, Galatians 5:22-23, Isaiah 9:6, Romans 12:1-2

For further Bible study: Isaiah 27:5, Isaiah 48:22

Please feel free to share my blogs with others. As I have recently made the decision to delete my social media accounts with the exception of my YouTube channel, I am relying on word of mouth, email and the search engines of the internet to partner with God’s will and ways to spread the message of the ministry to others.

Blessings
xx
